Though they can seem very similar, please be advised that these terms mean different things and involve very different aspects of qulifications and expertise. Parapsychologists are highly trained scientists or doctors who use sientific methods to research cases of paranormal activity, demonic infestation, unwanted haunting or poltergiest activity and in many instances UFO abduction cases. Parapsychologists are not ghost hunters or paranormal investigaters, though the two often do work together to obtain a complete spectrum of events from each end of the research process. Paranormal investigtors refers to teams of people ranging from amature to professional who engage in the collection of paranormal activity evidence. Though experience certainly helps, please take into consideration that no formal training or education is required to become a paranormal investigator and often times investigators are amatures with a passion for the paranormal but are not qualified to counsel or give professional advice and are not certified to provide paranormal crisis intervention, this is where a licensed parapsychologist would be required.
